Showing up for our Renewable Future 🌿
Don’t let the fossil fools get you down
✋🌍Remember, five years ago in 2019, we celebrated the passage of groundbreaking climate legislation, the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA), which activated the Climate Action Council to provide a clear roadmap for change.
☝️😵💫Remember one year ago, in 2023, compromised politicians like New York Governor Kathy Hochul aimed to undermine that progress by aligning with the fossil fuel industry's obstructionism and dialing back our climate law.
☝️🌍🥳And then remember our powerful and unified response that exposed Hochul’s shameful attempt, and saved our climate law? And that same year, we doubled down and passed another trailblazing climate law, the Build Public Renewables Act.
🤯Now, in 2024, Governor Hochul has again sabotaged climate action. Our Public Power coalition perfectly summarized her negligent and undemocratic history and provided an action link for our steps forward.
Governor Hochul, your time is up. A Sane Energy future entails the power of the people to come together and create positive change.

Considering joining Non-Violent Civil Disobedience? Email: pvff@350Brooklyn.org
Background: Ugandan and Tanzanian activists are facing increased harassment, intimidation, and arrest for defending their communities and protecting our planet from this deadly enterprise that will produce 34 million tons of carbon emissions every year, displace an estimated 100,000 people, and put the water source and ecosystems of 40 million people at grave risk. EACOP will be a carbon bomb on our overheated planet.

🚶♂️ Join us to:
Discover how we're transforming this site into a community asset.
Understand why gas systems should be RETIRED, NOT REPLACED.
Advocate for climate laws that protect us all.
We CAN build a safer, healthier energy system. Let’s make our voices heard! 🗣️
Save the Date! September 24 - Rally at NYPA for Public Renewables!
🌍 Five years ago, NY passed groundbreaking climate legislation to shift to 70% renewable energy by 2030. In 2023, the Build Public Renewables Act empowered the New York Power Authority (NYPA) to make it happen. But Governor Hochul is holding back progress to protect fossil fuel interests, even admitting NY won't meet its goal.
Join us on September 24th at the NYPA headquarters in White Plains to demand action! We need 15 gigawatts of renewable energy by 2030–enough to power 12 million homes. Let's make sure Hochul hears us loud and clear! 📢
One last note…
We say #StopLNG here in New York and everywhere! Register to learn from Beyond Extreme Energy, a coalition Sane Energy helped co-found in 2014, how activists are fighting at the federal level to protect our allies in Louisiana.
